Working closely with the Administrative, Surgical and Medical Directors of the thoracic transplant and ventricular assist device programs, the Clinical Manager of the thoracic transplant programs is responsible for providing administrative and clinical leadership for the Heart & Lung Transplant and VAD Programs. The Clinical Manager develops and ensures adherence to the standard of care, process improvement, maintenance of regulatory compliance and personnel management. Oversees staff to ensure proper oversight of the thoracic transplant and ventricular assist device programs.
The Clinical Manager is involved in ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and/or provision of patient care delivery in assigned nursing unit(s) or area(s). Promotes environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Accountable for the quality, safety, patient experience and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Consults and collaborates with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care. Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others.
This position provides operational oversight to the heart transplant, lung transplant and VAD program.

A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing required.
Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.
Minimum of seven (7+) or more years of relevant experience.
Two (2+) years or more of supervisory or management experience.
Proven hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services.
Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.
Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills.
Demonstrates knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.
- Cardiothoracic, transplant and VAD experience.
- Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area.
- Certification in relevant area.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
