#100032 Transplant Quality Specialist

The Transplant QA Coordinator’s chief responsibility is to coordinate and manage the quality assurance program of the solid organ transplant service line in compliance with the regulatory requirements governed by CMS and UNOS. Duties include policy updates, chart review, case identification and preparation, conducting root cause analysis, monitoring corrective action plans, and maintenance of a quality dashboard.

The coordinator is responsible for collaborating with physician leaders to manage the QA meetings, which includes providing agenda and minute preparation. The incumbent will manage projects which include: gathering and evaluating clinical data from the solid organ transplant service line, analyzing data for patterns and trends in care delivery; coordinating PI teams, and facilitating improvement efforts. Works with clinicians, leadership and staff to change processes and implement best practices that ensure superb quality care and minimize harm to the patient.

Collaborates with the Center for Transplant and PIPS analyst team to meet project data needs. Performs other duties related to the performance improvement, patient safety and regulatory compliance activities of the PI & PS department as required.

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or other healthcare profession, or a combination of comparable clinical education and / or experience.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience and proven success with in-depth knowledge of QI standards, clinical chart review and abstraction, and regulatory requirements.


  • MSN or Master's degree in related discipline.
  • Experience with solid organ transplant.
  • Expertise in performance improvement, committee coordination and regulatory standards.
  • Database data entry and/or management experience.
  • Statistical knowledge.
  • Quality improvement or patient safety knowledge and experience.


  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
