Position available through UCSD Temporary Employment Services (TES). Employment through TES is an excellent way to gain valuable UCSD experience and get your foot in the door for career positions. This is a 100% temporary appointment paying $32.47/hour. Assignments typically last 6 months or less. Compensation: $32.47/hour plus vacation, sick, and holiday pay.

  • This position develops and coordinates nutrition and health-related programs.

  • The position will support the development and execution of successful nutrition-based wellness programs in partnership with the Culinary Team and current Registered Dietitian.

  • The position provides support in nutritional care duties including developing and implementing nutrition and health-related initiatives and developing meal plans.


  • Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Registered Dietitian. Must be a Registered Dietitian credentialed with the Commission on Dietetic Registration through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • MS or MPH degree in related field from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of trends and research related to wellness in the workplace. Skill to interpret trends, define problems, conceptualize solutions and convert into practical applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately assess nutritional histories and design effective modified diets.

  • Demonstrated experience in nutrition data collection with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proven ability to develop new projects, preferably within a university setting, understanding of how to institutionalize new wellness efforts, skilled at problem-solving, thinking analytically, and developing programs that advance departmental strategic objectives and mission.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet all deadlines.

  • Skill in working in a team setting, fostering cooperation and support from other staff.

  • Proficient knowledge and use of computer software programs including nutritional analysis, word processing, desktop publishing, and database application systems, and knowledge of business/medical software applications and network systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of community resources in Public Health and College Health Initiatives.


  • Possess current registration with the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian and maintain that registration in good standing preferred.

  • Must hold the equivalent of an M.S. or MPH degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics.

  • Willingness to travel between multiple work sites.

  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.

  • A background check is required.
