Currently we are looking for a Jr. Research and Development Engineer to participate with project engineers, scientists and technicians in the preparation, maintenance, fabrication, testing, debugging, and shipping of electronic and mechanical instrumentation systems in support of ocean acoustic research.
B.S in Mechanical, Electrical, or Ocean Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to assist with the preparation, fabrication, testing, maintenance and use of mechanical and electronic sea-going equipment.
Ability to use standard electronic and mechanical tools such as wire strippers, screw drivers, oscilloscopes, volt meters, soldering irons, wrenches, power drills, etc.
Familiarity and experience working with and troubleshooting embedded devices, similar to Arduino, and their integration into mechanical-electrical systems.
Good communication (written and verbal) skills.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Technically minded and an ability to work safely with others to meet various deadlines.
A background check is required.
