The Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion is an outpatient clinical facility on UC San Diego Health's La Jolla campus. The facility includes eight surgery suites, basic and advanced imaging, physical therapy and pain management — plus infusion and apheresis services. The four-floor, 156,000-square-foot facility opened in March of 2018.
Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in the assigned department, performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of patient care. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.
Certification in Intravenous Therapy issued by the state of California (LVN IV).
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
A minimum of two (2) years of LVN experience.
Excellent communication skills and able to care for medically complex acute patients in
collaboration with registered nurses.
Requires initiative; ability to prioritize critical demands and work in a team environment.
Requires proven knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
- Outpatient Clinic experience.
- Infusion Center experience.
- ACLS and/or ART
- Flexible to work variable shifts.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
