The Clinical Resource Nurse of the Division of Plastic Surgery will be responsible for triage, direct & indirect patient care, oversight for other patient support staff (MA’s, LVNs), and managing clinic flow in coordination with the Division Chief. Additional responsibilities include supporting all aspects of clinical, back office, and administrative support duties that are in alignment with the organizational goals & regulations of UC San Diego Health Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic Services.
This position will require the selected candidate to develop a deep understanding of the Plastic Surgery sub-specialty practices (aesthetics, microsurgery, etc.) and work with the clinic manager in collaboration with Department of Surgery leadership, and the Clinical Medical Director to optimize clinical workflows within the areas of quality, service, access, engagement, and departmental budgetary goals. The selected candidate will also assist with the deployment of lean management principles such as daily huddles, leader standard work, and offered Lean training.

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Minimum one (1) year of recent inpatient acute, critical care, emergency nursing, or procedural nursing or related experience.
- Plastic surgery/Cosmetics/Dermatology/Surgical experience.
- Procedural experience.
- ACLS and/or ART.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
