Seeking highly motivated team player with excellent communication, writing, and math skills to perform due diligence and lease abstraction for UC San Diego's Real Estate team. Ensure 100% data integrity such that lease documents are interpreted, abstracted, and entered into the tracking system accurately; prepare accurate and detailed lease abstracts including all critical dates and financial requirements; ongoing verification and abstraction of lease information and appropriate updating of the database, as needed.

Responsible for organization and maintenance of physical documents for all owned, leased, and prospective properties; contribute to the team’s ongoing effort to develop efficient leasing and accounting procedures; draft lease correspondence and notices, address and resolve landlord/tenant payment issues, and monitor leases/amendments for rent start-up, operating expense changes, changes in ownership, alteration consent, and lease terminations; prepare and maintain abstraction process manual as needed. Support Real Estate Director and Real Estate staff as required.

Anticipated Duration: 6 - 8 months

Compensation: $29 - $35 /hour DOE, including paid holidays and vacation / sick leave. Full-medical insurance also available.


  • Significant experience with commercial real estate transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing) required.

  • Must be highly organized and tech savvy.

  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills required.

  • Ability to review, interpret and abstract legal real estate documents.

  • Demonstrated experience with database/records management.

  • Demonstrated financial, analytical and creative problem solving skills.

  • Proven track record of successfully completing challenging projects and managing multiple priorities.

  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


  • Experience with retail/restaurant leasing, percentage rents, cam reconciliation and construction/tenant improvements work agreements.
