Working under general supervision, incumbent independently performs and records all sonographic procedures in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices. Recognizes normal and pathological conditions.
Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Ultrasound protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Trouble shoots and resolves ultrasound related PACS issues. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure excellent image quality. Participates in performance improvement projects within the ultrasound department. Performs other duties as assigned.
Graduate of a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS-RVT)or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must obtain registry with ARDMS within 12 months of hire date.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Recent proven experience in a similar role and setting.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Demonstrated computer skills.
Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- One (1) year of relevant experience.
- Vascular experience.
- CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, as needed.
- Must be able to work various locations based on business needs. * Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
