Under the direction of the Executive Director of Development, Annual Giving, the Director of Leadership Annual Giving (Director-LAG) will be responsible for leading the development and management of an integrated strategy for increasing annual gifts at the $1,000-$24,999 level primarily focused on Health Sciences. Through collaboration with Health Sciences Advancement, Alumni and Annual Giving, the Director-LAG will create best practices, review top prospects, and increase the effectiveness of leadership annual giving across Health Sciences Advancement and the campus.
Incumbent will identify, solicit and steward annual giving donors who have the capacity and inclination to make $1,000 plus gifts, and move already established leadership annual giving donors to higher giving levels. In addition, the Director-LAG will form strong partnerships with colleagues across Advancement including but not limited to Alumni, Donor Experience & Engagement, Advancement & Health Sciences Communications, Prospect Development and both central and unit-based fundraising teams. It will ensure comprehensive, well-coordinated leadership annual giving strategies are in place, are monitored, and are effective to fuel the pipeline for major gifts.
* Demonstrated success at fundraising by developing and implementing strategic solicitation fundraising plans that incorporate a concise definition of goals, targeted audiences, and strategies in-line with grateful patient, institution and academic goals in higher education and closing gifts ($1,000 to $25,000+) from individuals, corporations, and foundations, both local and national.
Proven record of writing proposals for a significant project/gift ($1,000 to $25,000+) directed to individual and foundations/corporations.
Advanced knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, and proven experience in individual giving & grateful patient programming in order to acquire skills necessary to administer, coordinate and/or participate in general fundraising activities and proposal development will also be considered.
Proven experience in the full spectrum of development including: gift policies, solicitations, stewardship, donor recognition, and administration.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement persuasive cultivation ideas and techniques and provide critical analysis, using sound judgment with realistic expectations for prospects and donors.
Demonstrated expertise to utilize on-line databases and other software to create, retrieve, and compile up-to-the- minute documents and historical information for reports.
Proven administrative ability to provide direction to staff and volunteers in accomplishing established goals and objectives and maintain office activities with respect to established procedures and guidelines.
