#97432 Mathematical Computational Associate

Under supervision, the incumbent will assist PI with computational modeling. This position requires an individual trained in combinatorial mathematics, algebraic topology and neuroscience in order to model specific aspects of neural signaling and network information processing.

This is part of an on-going project that is developing a fundamentally novel machine learning architecture derived from neural signaling and neurophysiology. The candidate will be expected to assist with the theoretical modeling of relevant processes, and numerical (computational) testing and experimentation.


  • Demonstrated mathematical modeling experience.

  • Expertise with algebraic topology.

  • Expertise with graph theory and combinatorics.

  • Demonstrated numerical modeling experience.

  • Familiarity with neurophysiology.

  • Extensive experience in programming with MATLAB. Experience in programming with python.

  • Theoretical knowledge in computational modeling.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify problems and develop innovative solutions and to compile, synthesize, and interpret data and results.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy and ability to work with a diverse group of people. Ability to work independently and cooperatively.

  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments, maintain workflow, and work productively in meeting critical deadlines.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
