Support Clinical workflow by pick-up and transport conscious, semi-conscious, and/ or unconscious hospital patients to and from treatment areas, and nursing units via wheelchair, gurney, or bed. Transport discharged patients to pharmacy and to waiting automobiles. Primary functions include: lifting, turning, transferring, for patients requiring moderate to total assistance. Transport may be required to perform other duties as required those duties to include transport of x-rays, medical records, oxygen bottles, Video Swallow Chair, and other materials as needed by nursing units.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Prior experience in a related field or comparable environment.
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- One (1) year of direct experience transporting patients in a health care setting.
- Outstanding customer service experience.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Must be able to work overtime weekends as needed to meet the business needs of the department.
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds and able to push/pull a gurney or bed with patients weighing up to 300 pounds.
