Candidates hired into this position will be able to work remotely.
Under general supervision, performs in depth complex daily CPT, HCPC, and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding of inpatient and outpatient charge documents received from physicians for surgical procedures such as: vascular surgery, skin grafts, interventional Radiology, etc. Accurately interpret handwritten notes/diagnoses and convert them into CPT/HCPC/ICD-9/ICD-10 codes.
Retrieve all pertinent charging information through HCRT an IDX systems for professional fee coding purposes. Batch and review all charges for data entry readiness. Prepare memos to physicians/staff regarding abstract feedback as needed. Performs other related functions as required.
Graduation from High School or GED; or equivalent experience.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
Must have three (3) years of comparable coding experience.
Strong skills in CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 and HCPC coding applications.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Must be able to work overtime if required.
