The Patient Record Abstractor will perform a wide range of duties such as locating records, ensuring that all items requested and all physicians' notes are entered in the record, abstracting information, and solving day-to-day problems. This role may be required to assign and tracks deficiencies, review and validate demographic information, and work in a collaborative effort with various departments internal and external to UC San Diego Health.
Graduation from High School or a GED with a demonstrated knowledge of the applicable medical terminology.
Two (2) years of related hospital clerical experience; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
