Under supervision, assist in basic laboratory duties such as pipetting, weighting materials and making solutions as part of biochemical analysis of laboratory samples. Assist in the treatment of diabetic rodents by injection or oral gavage. Perform behavioral and physiologic assays on rodents. Provide general laboratory maintenance and ordering of lab supplies.
Graduation from high school or a GED and one (1) year of laboratory experience or two (2)years of college including courses in neuroscience or biological sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience working with diabetic rodents.
Skill and knowledge of general biochemical techniques.
Knowledge of general laboratory maintenance.
Experience with western blotting.
Experience with histological techniques and computer-assisted morphometry.
College Degree in neuroscience or biological sciences.
