The Stem Cell Processing Laboratory (SCPL) Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is responsible for processing and cryopreservation of cellular therapy products (CTPs), and associated assays and tasks as described in the Job Standards. These are highly complex, non-repetitive procedures required to ensure the daily operation of the SCPL and to maintain licensing and accreditation. Participation in the quality plan is required.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Science; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).

  • National Accrediting Agency for Clinical laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) program completion.

  • Two (2) years of experience as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

  • Recent consecutive experience in a Stem Cell Processing, Blood Bank or Hematology Laboratory; or equivalent, to include the demonstrated abilities in teaching, communication, critical thinking and problem solving skill.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

  • Must possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgement and accountability.

  • Strong Math skills.

  • Manual dexterity.


Degree in Medical Technology from a NAACLS accredited MT program.


  • Must be able to work all shifts, week-ends, overtime, and at various locations as necessary in accordance with operational needs.

  • Must be able to participate in the SCPL weekend work/on-call and holiday coverage rotation.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
