Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Clinical Research Coordinator shall contribute significantly to the development and implementation of a clinical
trial in the area of confocal microscopy on the skin for subjects with cystinosis. The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of the confocal microscopy protocol
including IRB correspondence, taking images with the confocal microscope, image analysis using imaging software, consenting subjects, subject follow-up and all
documentation of protocol. In addition, incumbent will assist lab personnel during times of increased workload. Tasks include but are not limited to PCR, DNA/RNA
extractions, DNA cloning and Western Blot.
Theoretical knowledge of basic Human Genetics and Molecular Biology.
Experience as a clinical research coordinator.
Demonstrated effective time management skills with the ability to work on several projects at one time and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated computer skills not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Calendar, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Proven typing/word processing skills to prepare correspondence, reports, and spreadsheets.
Micropipetting and dilutions experience.
Experience with biological techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, sequence analysis, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA isolation.
Knowledge of confocal microscopy and accompanying image software.
Experience with submissions/communication with university IRB.
