This posting is for an Interventional Radiology nurse position involving vascular and neuro interventional cases. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, patient education, patient monitoring and administration of sedation and other medication. The acuity level of patient care is high and requires an experienced nurse with excellent critical thinking skills. Provides nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic examinations in the radiology department. Provides pre-procedural , intra-procedural, and post- procedural nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures in the Interventional Radiology Suites. Serve as a resource for technologist, nurses and patients.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. All performance expectations associated with this position are performed at the PRACTITIONER Level.

- RN License issued by the State of California.
- ART or ACLS at time of hire with commitment to get ART w/in 6 months of hire date.
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date.
- Must have a minimum of six months of active nursing experience.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Previous IR and/or critical care experience.
- Moderate Sedation Certified
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
