Under supervision, The GI Endoscopy Tech I is responsible for setting up and assisting physician/nurse in all GI procedures (including ERCP's and less advance procedures), performing simple sigmoidoscopies and paracentesis with physicians/nurse endoscopist, maintain equipment and assure appropriate scope washing compliance, coordinate internal and external supply orders, restock and maintain inventory, assist in billing functions and in maintaining unit statistics, assist with administrative tasks in the department and perform necessary admission.
Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Tech I or Tech II level.
One (1) year as a GI Tech, LVN, CNA, Certified Medical Assistant, or EMT.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- Two (2) years as a GI Tech, LVN, CNA, Certified Medical Assistant, or EMT.
- GI Procedural Tech or Tech experience.
- Bilingual; English/Spanish.
- On-call required.
- Must be able to work overtime, and be able to work a variable schedule, including evening shifts. Must be able to float between sites.
