The Ob/Gyn Nurse Practitioner will work with full time faculty members in the Department of Reproductive Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynecology) seeing patients at multiple faculty clinic locations. Duties include history and physical examinations of new obstetrical patients, new gynecology patients, routine prenatal examinations, postpartum examinations, return gynecologic patients with common problems such as vaginitis, abnormal pap smear, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, dysmenorrhea and family planning. These activities will include the education of patients on Women’s health maintenance issues. There may be some participation in clinical research studies. Skills at performing limited first trimester abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound examinations are desired.

The selected candidate should be comfortable working with a team of physicians, but still have the ability to work independently. This person should be a positive role model to all team members with respect to professionalism, teamwork, and patient-centered care.


  • Must possess a current California RN License.

  • Certified Nurse Midwife or Women's Health NP License, and Furnishing License Certification.

  • Must be certified in adult & infant CPR.

  • Must have one (1) year of recent experience as an NP or CNM in Women's Health.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide obstetric services including prenatal examinations, postpartum, gynecology, and family planning.

  • Demonstrated skill at working in a clinical and research setting.

  • Proven ability to interact appropriately with a diverse population.

  • Skilled at working independently and being self-motivated.

  • Skilled at working as part of a team.


  • Master’s degree in Nursing.

  • Two (2) or more years of recent experience as an NP or CNM in Women's Health.


  • Background check and pre-employment physical required.

  • Will be required to travel and provide care at multiple Women’s Health clinical sites as scheduled by the Department.
