Under the general supervision of the attending faculty physician, the Physician Assistant is responsible for the provision of Pulmonary Vascular patients in both the inpatient and outpatient service. Provides advanced clinical assistance and support in treating and managing patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. Patient evaluation includes performing a history and physical, patient examinations, order diagnostic studies, and develops a plan of care. Solves complex clinical problems and communicates directly with the attending physician. Serves as a liaison for patients / families as well as community physicians. Provides teaching to patients and staff. Participates in ancillary tasks including quality assurance committees, research projects, and helps maintain a departmental database. The Physician Assistant is a technical resource to the clinical staff. Performs other related duties as required.
Meet the legal requirements to practice as a Physician Assistant as determined by graduation from a training program approved by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California; to be certified by the State Board of Medical Examiners or the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Certified NCCPA, Physician Assistant (PA) license - issued by the state of California.
BART or BLS/CPR at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date.
Current ACLS certification or commit to achieving within 6 months of hire.
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of full time experience as a PA.
- Recent experience in pulmonary vascular medicine.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
