DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Operation Manager and under the direction of the Executive Recruiter for Advancement, the Associate Executive Recruiter is responsible for consulting and coordination of executive recruitment efforts for Vice Chancellor area of Advancement at UC San Diego, University of California system. The incumbent must have a proven track record in successful recruitment, and logistics management.

Under the leadership of the Executive Recruiter, the incumbent will work directly with Advancement senior management, hiring managers and HR team to develop recruitment plans devoted to professional sourcing and networking and sourcing activities as well as cultivating professional contacts and identifying prospective job candidates.

The Associate Recruiter will participate in developing individual recruitment plans, including timeline/search logistics management, and determines best methods of recruiting and managing recruitment process flow. They will be actively involved in reviewing candidate pools and working closely with the hiring managers to ensure a diverse pool of qualified applicants. In the event an outside search firm is used, the incumbent must be actively involved in the process to ensure the appropriate University and State/Federal regulations are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven success with all aspects of recruiting including management, sourcing and marketing, and use of recruiting technology. At least two to three (2 - 3) years of experience conducting recruitments directly or through search firms.

  • Demonstrated experience with sourcing and screening for a variety of positions and a variety of levels.

  • Proven ability to develop strategies and plans to identify new internal and external candidates, and cultivate networking relationships.

  • Proven aptitude and experience with applicant tracking systems and candidate databases (i.e. LinkedIn).

  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of recruiting best practices and HR concepts and processes.

  • Proven experience creating recruitment deliverables, including agendas, presentation materials, etc.

  • Excellent written communication skills which demonstrate the ability to draft clear and concise specifications, documentation and reports.

  • Ability to create and deliver formal presentations to small and large groups.

  • Proven success with all phases of recruitment coordination and logistics management. Experience successfully coordinating multiple groups and calendars.

  • Successful experience conducting reference checks via phone, web, and email.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate regional and national travel for interview purposes.

  • Excellent oral communication skills which demonstrate the ability to effectively convey and explain information, influence outcomes and tactfully deal with diverse people, situations and ideas.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

As part of the regular responsibilities of this position, the incumbent sees confidential documents which are used by management in developing positions related to collective bargaining, attends meetings where management positions and strategy regarding collective bargaining issues are discussed, and gathers data important to the formulation of management positions in collective bargaining.
