Under general supervision and direction of the Department Manager, provides administrative support for the Department and the Manager. Answers and triages incoming calls. Uses computer resources to schedule and attend to patient appointments. Obtains authorizations and verifies eligibilities. Greets and checks in patients. Orders supplies. Sorts and distributes incoming mail. Interacts with faculty, clinic staff, administrators, and outside agencies (i.e., insurance companies, community medical groups). Schedule and result cardiac event monitoring devices.
Experience with working in a healthcare environment for one (1) year.
Proven knowledge of scheduling and authorization.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Intermediate level skills in using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with EPIC scheduling.
- Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology.
- Spanish speaking.
- Knowledge of cardiac terminology.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
