Incumbent serves as Campus Capital Assets Accounting Supervisor in General Accounting ---a division of Business & Financial Services (BFS). This position is a key member of the division's professional accounting team with broad responsibilities that are broad, substantive and critical to the integrity of the University's accounting and financial reporting processes. In addition to its primary function, Plant Accounting, the position works with diverse groups, including external parties, key administrative offices at University of California Office of the President (UCOP), other UC campuses, UCSD central administrative offices and individual campus departmental/unit offices. Although the position reports to the Associate Director, Assets Accounting, it operates with substantial latitude for independent action and decision making in its major functional responsibilities.

Bachelor's degree or experience in a related area.
Advanced knowledge of accounting function. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, theory and practice, and knowledge and experience in applying fund accounting principles.
Advanced ability to effectively present complex accounting and finance related information verbally and in writing.
Advance experience using financial transactions and systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and unique regulatory compliance requirements. Knowledge of audit techniques and internal control standards. *Advanced knowledge of common desktop / web applications.
Ability to provide positive guidance, effective supervision, providing for staff development, delegation of authority to appropriate levels while ensuring adequate internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and five (5) years professional level accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.
