Under general supervision, the AV IT Engineer 3 provides audio visual technical assistance within the department, and is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, operation, and instruction of numerous complex interactive media systems used in communication in the Health System; the position maintains HS AV Service Level Agreements, interacts with clients, Health System and Health Sciences technical staff, various UCSD internal groups, external departments, and outside vendors and consultants.
The position is responsible for complex assignments that range significantly in size, and that require independence, decision making, project management, and excellent judgment; the position will be responsible for implementation of interactive media technologies including scheduling, Multipoint Control Units, Video Call Manager, Directory Services, patient and classroom AV systems, endpoints and desktop software objects, and other required components; will also perform other duties as assigned.
The position will also be responsible for providing remote technical assistance and acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for audio visual and conferencing systems utilized in UC San Diego Health Telemedicine program and its affiliates located throughout Southern California.
A Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Three (3+) or more years of relevant experience in in design, maintenance, and or operation of audio visual systems.
Strong knowledge of AV/IT design and field implementation.
