The EpicLink/Phoenix Transplant Report Writer Analyst will actively contribute to an innovative team. The incumbent will also be responsible to build, maintain and optimize Epic EMR system for the EpicLink application. EpicCare Link is a web-based portal system that allows our organization to extend patient information to external facilities and improve the continuity of care in your community (e.g. community clinics, external physicians and research coordinators, and insurance companies). The incumbent manages agreements, provisions users, builds and updates data sets and master file records, perform quality assurance and integrated testing, and release new functionality to end-users. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing vendor software releases and updates to test features desired and then implement them within UCSD system(s). Assists in maintaining current test and training environments and will participate in training end-users. Provides 7/24 problem management support and resolution for clinical systems.
The incumbent will also be an integral part in the development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and all reporting needs for the organ transplant including but not limited to the outpatient and inpatient setting both financial and clinical. The incumbent will gain an in-depth knowledge of the Epic EMR software, as well as health systems operations and workflow and will work closely with the EPIC Application Team, administrators and clinicians to translate business needs into functional, accurate and timely reports.
This position is responsible for the integrity of the procedure suite data including validation of the data in the Enterprise Clarity Data Warehouse. Reports will include development of standard reports, complex ad hoc analysis, extractions of data for public reporting, dashboards, business intelligence and other reporting as needed. Mastery of the Clarity Data Model and several reporting tools such as Crystal standard query language (SQL), Crystal Reports, Reporting Workbench, Business Objects, MS Excel and others as identified will be essential. This position will also participate in knowledge of data that flows into the Enterprise Clarity Data Warehouse to best serve our customers' reporting needs. The role includes system development, report specification/development, ad hoc analysis and system maintenance/support. The Transplant report writer will focus on all reporting needs for transplant.
A Bachelor's Degree in healthcare information technology, computer science, or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
Required to be certified in an assigned EMR vendor's product/module within the first six (6) months of employment.
Must satisfy all vendor testing requirements to be certified without needing to attend vendor's training a second time for the same class.
Minimum of three (3+) or more years of relevant. Epic analyst experience, in a large complex healthcare environment.
Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
Proven ability to provide expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives affecting clinical care processes.
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize system tools to meet functionality needs of users.
Proven ability in workflow and data analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, quantitative methods, planning and gap analysis.
Ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects; in-depth knowledge of organizational and project planning processes and ability to produce and maintain high quality planning documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- EPIC Certification.
- Major participant in a clinical system implementation.
- Programming experience in SQL or other comparable programming language.
- Intermediate level capabilities with MSSQL server.
- Knowledge and intermediate level experience working with Crystal Reports 11, reporting, SAP Business Objects, OLAP structures. Knowledge and experience working with EPIC data and Epic Clarity.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
