#90617 (LVN) Per Diem Vocational Nurse - Float Team

DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse on the Float Team, the LVN performs a wide variety of patient care activities in support of clinic activity. This includes prioritizing and assisting in patient triage processing, preparation and assistance with patient examinations, administering medications, drawing blood, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, patient education and venipuncture and IV access. Position requires initiative, able to prioritize critical demands and the ability to work in a team environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - issued by the state of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Recent experience in a similar role and setting.

  • High School Diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Primary Care experience.
  • Point of Care testing experience.
  • Ambulatory experience.
  • Procedure experience.
  • Certification in Intravenous Therapy issued by the state of California (LVN IV).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work flexible hours which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and some overtime, if necessary, for unexpected staffing issues.

  • Must be able to work various locations based on business needs.
