Perform in-depth and complex daily CPT, HCPC, and ICD-9 coding of inpatient and outpatient charge documents received from physicians. Ability to accurately interpret handwritten notes/diagnoses and convert them into CPT/HCPC/ICD-9 codes. Retrieve all pertinent charging information through HCRT an IDX systems for professional fee coding purposes. Batch and review all charges for data entry readiness. Prepare memos to physicians/staff regarding abstract feedback as needed.

Depending on the status of the candidates’ certification and years of experience, will determine the Coder II or Coder III designation.


  • Graduation from High School or General Education Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in CPT, ICD-9, & HCPC coding applications in a multispecialty setting.


  • Two (2) years coding experience in a Healthcare environment, with emphasis on professional fee coding.
  • Healthcare Environment Experience.
  • Professional fee coding certification, such as CPC or CCS-P.
  • Epic user experience.
  • I-10 proficient.


  • Must be willing to work overtime if required.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
