Under general supervision, the psychologist will provide psychological services for patients in the UCSD Division of Clinical Psychiatry Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Hoarding Program and General Psychiatry Program. Services include: diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, individual therapy, and supervision of trainees; group and individual cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for adults and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related “Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders,” including Hoarding Disorder, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), trichotillomania, skin-picking, and tic disorders; and family interventions. The psychologist will formulate psychiatric diagnoses, develop, and implement treatment plans for patients, and will provide crisis intervention services and referrals. The psychologist will participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team and clinic site.
Possession of a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and valid licensure as a clinical psychologist as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners.
Training and experience in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with OCD and related OC Spectrum disorders, such as trichotillomania, body dysmorphic disorder, compulsive Hoarding, and tic disorders, as well as comorbid neuropsychiatric disorders.
Skill and experience in conducting specialized cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), in both individual and group settings, for patients with OCD and related OC Spectrum disorders such as Tourette's Syndrome, Trichotillomania, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and Compulsive Hoarding.
Strong demonstrated experience in providing psychological services such as diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, individual therapy, group and individual cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for adults and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related “Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum Disorders.
Strong demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact with patients, general public, and other clinical and medical staff.
Strong demonstrated writing skills for completing medical records and preparing various clinical reports.
Knowledge of community, mental health and social services.
Demonstrated ability to conduct psychiatric and functional assessments and formulate DSM-IV diagnoses.
Proven ability to plan and conduct treatment interventions for psychiatric disorders, as well as family interventions. Knowledge and skill in problem-focused psychotherapeutic approaches.
- Proven ability to present, speak at conference, group and the general public events to advocate for the programs.
