Under direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the senior statistician will edit and score actigraphy records for sleep/wake, circadian activity rhythms and light exposure and independently perform moderate-complex statistical computations related to sleep/wake activity and circadian rhythms actigraphy for the PI, including utilizing unique statistical techniques to perform circadian activity rhythms; provide guidance to students on actigraphic issues; and help in writing manuscripts related to these data.
Graduation from college with a major in statistics or a related field and four years of professional statistical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, sleep disorders and circadian rhythms.
Proven extensive experience and knowledge in different type of actigraphy devices, including but not limited to editing and scoring actigraphy records for sleep/wake, circadian activity rhythms and light exposure, trouble shooting actigraphy devices, analyzing all actigraphy data.
Demonstrated extensive experience in independently adapting standard statistical methods and developing innovative statistical approaches to meet challenges of data analysis, such as perform advanced sleep and circadian activity rhythms analyses on data collected using innovative devices such as actigraphy.
Demonstrated extensive working experience in sleep disorder related clinical research areas.
Demonstrated extensive and independent working experience at a sophisticated level with complex statistical methods and models incorporating a broad range of variable types and traditional and modern statistical approaches.
Demonstrated sophisticated knowledge of statistical computer packages, including SAS.
Demonstrated ability and knowledge of design and analysis of longitudinal data with repeated measures using generalized estimating equations, mixed effect models, and trajectory analyses.
Proven thorough knowledge of and extensive experience in designing and analyzing mixed effect models, generalized estimating equation models (GEE) and conduct random effects analysis of longitudinal trajectories assessing the effects of various kinds of variables and examining the interactions and relationships between different types of variables.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of light therapy devices, such as LiteBook, and compliance data analysis.
