The Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion is an outpatient clinical facility on UC San Diego Health's La Jolla campus. The facility includes eight surgery suites, basic and advanced imaging, physical therapy and pain management — plus infusion and apheresis services. The four-floor, 156,000-square-foot facility opened in March 2018.
The Registered Nurse provides skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Primarily working out of the Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion, the RN will need to float to both Thornton and Hillcrest. Thornton and Hillcrest surgical services include Neurology, Orthopedics, Urology, Plastics, general, Oncology, Head and Neck, Vascular and Open Heart, Gynecology; additional services at Hillcrest include trauma and burn surgeries.
The RN identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations, directs and acts as resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned and promotes compliance and support for policies.
While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
Must possess a valid California RN license.
BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
Current PALS certification, or must obtain during 1st year of employment for new employees.
Must have at least two (2) years of recent acute care adult ICU RN experience. Based on applicant pool, department may consider RNs with two (2) or more years of PACU RN experience with proven ICU level patient care or RNs with a combination of ER and ICU experience.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
