TALENT POOL (LA JOLLA) - PER DIEM SENIOR NURSING AID

DESCRIPTION
- Supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Performs uncomplicated technical procedures.
- Participates in performance improvement activities, such as chart audits.
- Utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies.
- Provides basic patient care support: patient transport, specimen and blood and blood products transport, and inventory management.
- Cross trains to the role of Hospital Unit Secretary.
- This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Participates in collaborative team environment, including: training and evaluation of peers; scheduling of work; and assisting the administrative functions of the unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CNA certification.
- CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider (Recognized by AHA or equivalent).
- One (1) year previous experience as a CNA in an acute care environment/complex healthcare setting.
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.
Preferred
- Bilingual: Spanish/English.
- PCIS, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.
- Medical Terminology Certificate.
