TALENT POOL (LA JOLLA) - PER DIEM SENIOR NURSING AID

DESCRIPTION

  • Supports the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Performs uncomplicated technical procedures.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities, such as chart audits.
  • Utilizes a variety of technical equipment and supplies.
  • Provides basic patient care support: patient transport, specimen and blood and blood products transport, and inventory management.
  • Cross trains to the role of Hospital Unit Secretary.
  • This position requires initiative, the ability to prioritize demands and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Participates in collaborative team environment, including: training and evaluation of peers; scheduling of work; and assisting the administrative functions of the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CNA certification.
  • CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider (Recognized by AHA or equivalent).
  • One (1) year previous experience as a CNA in an acute care environment/complex healthcare setting.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.

Preferred

  • Bilingual: Spanish/English.
  • PCIS, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems.
  • Medical Terminology Certificate.
